Hey everyone, I decided to put fl studio onto my desktop instead of using it on my laptop because it over heats a lot now. Anyway on my laptop i use fl 9 and it never crackles and the cpu load rarely goes over 50% (this is a 2.0 ghz dual core and around 4 years old) and the buffer length is at the highest so that i can use it without annoying stuttering and crackling.
However when i put it on my pc (which has a 3.4 ghz quad in it) i was hoping for it to run a lot better than on my laptop but instead it is pretty much un-usable. It hits around 70% cpu load and crackles/stutters when playing a kick, a snare and a 3xosc. I've tried lowering the buffer length to the highest (8000 and something) and switching to the asio4all sound driver. This made the under-runs go from 2000 to around 20 but it is still stuttering like mad. I don't understand why its and wondering if anyone knew if it has anything to do with needing a new soundcard. But in both my laptop and pc i dont have a dedicated soundcard but the laptop has worked. RAM should also not a problem as laptop has 4gb and pc has 8gb. So just asking if anyone knows if this is a soundcard problem or just something I'm doing wrong? cheers in advance
Mic Crackling On Pc
Then i use Fl studio to make a recording. But when i record some audio, first thing it's very slow in recogninzing the sound and then when i play it, the only thing i hear is some weird cracking or popping noise and sometimes my guitar. For FL users:When I play back my piece in FL studio 10, theres no real problem in terms of audio quality (remix quality is different! However, when I export the project, it seems like theres a shitton of static, crackling, and popping that crops up in the mean time that is fucking awful and I. Thanks for the input. I did notice the sample rate on the Firestudio was at 48kHz while the computer was at 44.1. I changed that so they matched and the static/crackling sound was still there. I'll have to try the adapter trick. I'm also going to try going through a different audio interface and see if that changes anything. Response to Crackling/popping In Fl Studio 2011-01-09 17:32:08.
